Race Rocks Lighthouse

The Race Rocks tower is a distinctive west coast landmark.  Built from Scottish granite in the late 1800’s, it marks  the small, rocky islets and treacherous waters in Juan de Fuca Strait.  Today the area is a marine ecological reserve.  The quilt uses the soft-edge applique method.
